Located in the heart of downtown Evanston
The North Shore is just steps from shops, restaurants, cafés, theaters, banks, services and retailers. Colorful user-friendly streetscapes, welcoming park benches, bustling shoppers and al fresco dining make this vibrant downtown suburban neighborhood feel like a friendly small town square with a cosmopolitan twist. A former editor of our monthly newsletter counted more than 24 restaurants and cafés within one block of our doors! Walk Score categorized the North Shore Hotel as a “Walker’s Paradise.”
Easy walking distance from churches, the Evanston Public Library, professional offices and Whole Foods makes the North Shore an eco-friendly, pedestrian paradise! It’s a short walk to the lake front where Dawes Park offers the serenity of magnificent trees and walking paths. The Northwestern University campus is 3 blocks away, with access to all the educational, musical, theatrical and cultural resources of a prestigious Big 10 university.
Public transportation is easy, too. PACE bus to Old Orchard is available at the Davis Street station, CTA bus stops at the corner, and the el and Metra stations are just 2 blocks down Davis street. In addition, the North Shore is a stop on the City of Evanston’s Levy Senior Center bus for shuttle to and from the Levy Senior Center. For those who qualify, the City of Evanston sponsors a taxi coupon program for reduced fare rides throughout Evanston.
